Application Rates
- Fruit Trees, Citrus, Grapes, & Berries
- New Plantings: Before you plant, add 2 cups per 1/2 cubic foot (approx. 5 gallons) of soil that will be added to the planting hole. Once planting is completed, add an additional cup around the plant and mix into the soil. Water thoroughly.
- Established Plants: Use 1 cup for every 10 sq. feet of growing area, or 4 cups for every 50 feet of row. Work in gently and water thoroughly.
- When To Apply: Every 2 months year-round.
- Flower Shrubs, Vines, & Roses
- New Plantings: Before you plant, add 1 cup per 1/2 cubic foot (approx. 5 gallons) of soil that will be added to the planting hole. Once planting is completed, add an additional cup around the plant and mix into the soil. Water thoroughly. Apply every 8 weeks during the growing season.
- Established Plants: use 2 cups for every inch of trunch diameter (measured at 4″-6″ above the soil line). Work into the soil gently inside of the drip line, or make fertilizer tea as per the fertilizer tea section. Water thoroughly and apply every other month during the growing season.
- Flower Container Plants
- New Plantings: When planting, mix 1 heaping tablespoon to each quart of potting soil, or add 1/2 cup per 1/2 cubic foot (approx. 5 gallons) of potting soil. Water thoroughly. Your newly potted plants will love it!
- Established Plants: Sprinkle 1 tablespoon for a 6″ container, or 4 tablesppons for a 12″ container. Scratch into the soil gently, and voer with a thin layer (approx. 1/2-1″) or organic mulch when possible. Water thoroughly.
- Fertilizer Tea: Mix 2 pounds, or 5 cups for every 5 gallons of water. Let the mixture set for 24 hours. Strain well and mulch all the solids around teh root zone. the liquid portion (tea) can be applied at 1 to 2 cups for shrubs, or 2 to 4 cups for larger plants. Use full strength to foliar feed & for deep root feeding of all plants.
