A readily available source of organic nitrogen, Down To Earth’s Blood Meal is great for heavy feeders, like corn, spinach, broccoli and leafy greens. Nitrogen is essential for all types of growing plants and an adequate seasonal supply ensures plenty of shoots, flowers, fruits and vegetables.
Application Rates
3 cups ≈ 1 lb; ½ cup ≈ 2.5 oz; 1 tbsp ≈ 0.25 oz
- Vegetable Gardens:
- To prepare new gardens, apply 2-3 lbs per 100 square foot and thoroughly mix into the top 3″ of soil. For new transplants, add 1 tsp per hole, mix into soil and water in well. To feed established plants, side dress 1-2 tsp, depending on size of plant and desired growth rate, once each month during the growing season.
- Outdoor Containers:
- For new plantings, add 1-2 tsp per gallon of soil and mix thoroughly. To feed established plants, lightly mix 1 tsp per gallon into the soil surface once each month during the growing season.
- Row Crops/Acreage:
- Apply 200-1,000 lbs per acre depending on specific crop needs or required pounds of actual nitrogen per acre.
